Born in 1981 in Amsterdam, I grew up in the suburban town of Almere. In 1998, I began studying Architecture at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.

After graduating in 2003, I moved to Kathmandu, Nepal, where I worked on the establishment of the country’s first green school, the Vajra Academy.

Back in the Netherlands, I briefly worked at DOK architecten before joining ADP Architecten in 2006, where I truly began my professional career.

ADP Architecten was a respected Amsterdam-based architectural practice with a long tradition of designing large-scale office and public buildings. The office also collaborated as a co-architect with internationally renowned architects, including Álvaro Siza, Cruz y Ortiz and Juan Navarro Baldeweg.

For almost ten years, I contributed to a wide range of complex, large-scale projects, including residential buildings, offices, schools, public buildings and major renovations. At the end of 2015, ADP Architecten unfortunately ceased operations.

In 2016, I joined Space&Matter, a young Amsterdam-based design studio specialising in architecture, circular area development and vision-making. As a lead technical designer, I worked on a broad diversity of innovative projects, gaining extensive knowledge of circular design, bio-based materials and cross-laminated timber (CLT).

In 2023, my family and I took a major step and moved to Central Portugal, in search of a more peaceful environment and a simpler way of life. Portugal is now the place we call home.

I continue to work as an Architectural Designer, now as a self-employed professional working remotely with clients in both the Netherlands and Portugal.

Over the past 20 years, I have gained extensive experience across a wide range of building typologies, from sophisticated interiors to large-scale office complexes. I have worked at practices with different partners, on projects involving internationally renowned architects and a variety of architectural styles. This has taught me to adapt quickly to different design approaches while maintaining a strong sense of aesthetics. It allows me to identify where the focus should lie when developing a design into a technically sound and feasible solution.

In recent years, my work has increasingly focused on timber construction, modular construction and floating buildings. My contribution has often centred on the development and refinement of architectural details. For me, this is a continuous search for the purest and most effective solution—one in which architectural quality, feasibility, cost and sustainability come together.
