Common Woods
Amersfoort | 2021 | residential | Space&Matter
Common Woods is a residential development in southern Amersfoort, on the edge of a forest. It comprises several apartment buildings and ground-floor homes, bringing together social housing, luxury villas and apartments in a bold mix.
The project was originally designed using prefabricated CLT modules. Since it is a high-end development, the aim was to keep the modular construction invisible from the outside. This became the central challenge in developing the architectural details
I was responsible for developing the complete set of details. The scope included rooftop planters, nature-inclusive features, integrated sunshades and concealed rainwater downpipes, resulting in an extensive detailing package.
